Attaining Independence
We envision a community where individuals and families can meet life's basic needs (shelter, food, clothing, and transportation), gain economic stability through education, job training and permanen t housing and receive basic supportive services. We strive for a community that fosters independence for individuals and families by helping teach residents how to manage money and save for home ownership; maintain health and dignity while aging; and increase independence when faced with a disability. United Way supports agencies that encourage and empower individuals to enhance their lives.
